BMWE funding programme for start-ups from Germany – ‘Young Innovators’ at GeoTHERM

In cooperation with the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), we offer young, innovative companies the opportunity to present their ideas and technologies to an international audience of experts at the GeoTHERM expo & congress in Offenburg.

What does the programme offer?

The BMWE supports you in showcasing your innovations at the world's largest trade fair for geothermal energy.
Participating companies benefit from discounted rates for stand rental and stand construction at the joint stand for young, innovative companies.

Who is eligible to participate?

• Companies with headquarters and business operations in Germany

• Affiliation with industry or trade

• Small enterprises as defined by the EU: fewer than 50 employees and annual turnover or annual balance sheet total not exceeding EUR 10 million

• Company age less than ten years
   

Funding

• Coverage of up to 60% of costs
• Trade fair participation in the form of a shared stand
   

Services 

• Young Innovator Area 6 sqm (3x2m)
• Stand construction and furnishings (stand partition walls, 1x1m booth, black and white stand lettering, counter, meeting table, 4 chairs, 230V power connection, anthracite carpet)
• Mandatory media package (entry in the online and print exhibitor directory, 20 free codes for visitor tickets)
• 2 exhibitor passes (including congress participation & parking)
• Hall energy flat rate

This is how it works:

1. Registration
Register by 27 November 2026 at the latest to participate in the ‘Young Innovative Companies’ joint stand.

2. Submit your funding application
At the same time, submit your application for approval to the BAFA.

3. Confirmation
Once the BAFA has confirmed your eligibility for funding, your registration to participate in the joint stand becomes binding.
